Minimum Requirements for 9th Kup - Yellow Belt

1. Basic Hand and Foot Techniques

  • Riding horse stance: Middle body punch (single, double. triple). 45 Middle body punch (single, double, triple)
  • Basic Kicking techniques from sparring stance: Rising kick, inside to outside crescent kick, front snap kick
  • Basic blocking techniques (forward or riding horse stance): face block. in-out middle block, down block

2. Combination Kicking Techniques

  • Front Kick/Rising Kick (same leg)
  • Front Kick/ln-Out Crescent Kick (same leg)

3. Form - Basic form #1

4. One Step Sparring - #1 & #2

  • #1 - LH knife-hand block: RF steps forward, RH punch to stomach and R elbow to face.
  • #2 LH knife-hand block: RF steps back then front snap kick and put down in front and RH palm to face.

5. 5elf-Defense - #1 & #2

  • #1 - Hair grab - LH pulling down at elbow joint, LF stepping forward, RF stepping behind attacker's RF, RH palm to chin.
  • #2 - Both hands front neck choke RH going over attacker's LH and grabbing, push hand in and turning to the outside.

6. Sparring

  • 3 step combination sparring (no contact, good control)

7. Breaking Technique - Hammer fist

8. General Knowledge

  • A Tae Kwon Do student should always appear in a clean uniform with their belt tied correctly during all Tae Kwon Do practices.

One - Hana Five - Dasut Nine - Ahup
Two -Duhl Six - Yasut Ten - Yuhl
Three - Set Seven - Ilgob
Four - Net Eight - Yoduhl
